Tho Baptist Union Conferenoo to-day received thoa secretary's report, which showed a year of progress and success in all the churches. The net increase of ' members was 183, there being now in the union 66 churches and branches with a total membership of 4648. Tho report made mention that tho Auckland Tabernacle Church had, during the year, erected shops on its vacant land, at a cost of £8000, the net profits on which are to be exclusively devoted to Homo Mission and Church Extension work. In the oourse of discussion of tho students' committee report, one gratifying illustration of Church Union was mentioned, it being stated that for many years past students for tho Baptist ministry had been received in tho Presbyterian Theological Hall, Dunedin, among the students for the Presbyterian ministry. Warm thanks were tendered to tho Presbyterian professors for tho great services rondered. Tho Baptist nowspapor reported a successful year, and increased circulation with a balance to profit. Tho Ministers' Annuity Fund report, presented by Mr. W. H. Gcorgo, of Wellington, showed that tho capital had now reached £1000, with over £300 promised to como in during tho year. Tho general income of tho union had amounted to nearly £1000. An interesting discussion took placo on a motion to allow ladios to act as delegates to the Unjon Assembly. Tho resolution was carried by a largo majority.
