TROUT OVA.
(DI TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL COUUESrONDENT.) Auckland, October 14. At last night's meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society exception was taken by Mr. F. Earl to the society being charged by the Tourist Department for trout ova collected from.Lako Hotorua. The item of £37 10s. appeared in t-ho financial statement ns having been devoted to this purpose, and Mr. Karl thought that such claims should bo strongly resisted in view of the fact that tho society had originally stocked Lako Ilotorua and was praotically being charged for its own property. The secretary (Mr. Clieeseman) said that the Minister (th® Hon. J. M'Gowan) had adoptod. a positive attitude when seen on tho matter. Mr. Earl, howover, thought tho presont was an opportunity to bring tho subject up again, as members were not so positivo on tho ovo of an election. The cnairman (Mr. Payton) did not think tho society had "the slightest hope." It was, however, decided to reopen tho matter by writing to tho member for Auckland Central asking him to renew tho request.
