MANAWATU SHOW.
The display of fdrm implements' and machinery at tho Manawatu A. and P. Association's show promises to be on a most extensive scale. All the prominent manufacturers and importers of tho Dominion havo applied for space, which will occupy an area of some 40,000 square feot. Tho big Manawatu show is exceptionally well adapted "-for such displays, as I'almerston North is the centre of a big agricultural population, and tho centre on which five of the main railway lines converge, including tho Main Trunk lino, besides being the connecting point between the East and West Coast portions of tho North Island. The show of live stock is by far tho most comprehensive of its kind in tho North Island. THE INDUSTRIAL CLASSES. The art and industrial section at the Manawatu. A. and P. show is the most oxtensivo exhibition of its kind in the Dominion. Tho section. comprises exhibits relating to photography, landscape, scascape, figure study, and animal life, besides junior classos. Tho prizes in tho section amount to £22 10s. Technical schools are furnished with classos for drawing and painting, modelling, designing, art craft, work, t and architectural and mechanical drawing. ' The public' school competition syllabus, compiled by tho Teachers' Institute, is accomplishing admirable work, and is much appreciated by tho pupils entering for the competitions. The schedules havo been distributed to tho schools., ' The judges aro Mr. Mcnzies Gibb, of Christchurcli, for tho art and technical schools' exhibits, and Mr. W. Greene and Mr. J. E. Vernon for the public scjiool division.
