A NOBLY DISSIPATED GENIUS.
Quite a new and very pleasant theory'is advanced about the genius of. women by an eminent German physiologist,, who . has arrived at tho conclusion that there .are far more women geniuses than men geniuses, and that it is not bccause they do not exist that great women poets and great' women, musicians and. great women doctors do not rise upon our' horizon, but because women, are more unselfish, more "communistic," as .'he puts it, with-their brains .than mon. Men are brain-capitalists—thoy' use .them for.ono purposo only,, for their own satisfaction, 'whereas women give theirs in'many ways, for general purposes, and so amass, as it were, 110 special store. This is a gallant theory; one hopes it is true. It is pleasant, anyhow, to think wc are all possible Wagners or Beethovons, Shakespeares or Goethes.
