—« . AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. The Hon. G. Fowlds told a Dominion reporter last night that he intended to meet the wishes of the Wellington members in regard to tho Mount View reserve'by dropping, for the present session, the portion of tho Mental Hospitals Reserves bill which provides for cutting up a portion of the land for building purposes. He would proceed with tho other clauses of the Bill, including that providing for an exchange of land between the Government and the Wellington Hospital Trustees, as he did not wish to delay the acquisition by the trustees of a site for a fever hospital. A deputation of Wellington members interviewed tho Minister on tho matter yesterday morning
