LAWN TENNIS.
A meeting of delegates of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association was held in tho Phoenix Assurance Company's office last evening, Mr. R. Deere occupying. tho chair. It was resolved that tho constitution bo amended as follows, to permit of sub-asso-ciations being formed: — (1) Wherever in such constitution tho word "club" occurs there shall be inserted immediately after such word the words "or sub-association," excepting only in rules 4, 6, and 10 of such constitution. (2) By tho addition to rule 4 of tho words "or which is affiliated to a sub-asso-ciation. (3) After rulo 4 there shall bo inserted a new rule as follows: —"Every sub-association —(a) must be composed solely of clubs whoso playing grounds aro situato outside a circle having a radius of thirty miles from the General Post Office, Wellington, and Within geographical limits to bo approved of, determined or altered by tho management committee from time to time; (b) must consist of at least five clubs having each an individual membership of at least 15 amateur playing members; (c) must have a constitution and rules .approved by tho association." (4) After rule 6 thero shall be inserted a new rulo as follows: —"Each affiliated subassociation shall pay as an annual subscription to tho association a sum equal to onefourth of tho total subscriptions payablo in each year by the affiliated clubs to such subassociation." (5) By tho addition of the following proviso to rulo S: —"Provided that any club resigning from the association for the purpose of joining a sub-association shall bo entitled to a refund of part of its subscription proportionate to tho unexpired period of the current financial year. (6) After rulo 10. there shall bo inserted a now rule as follows: —"Each affiliated subassociation consisting of less than ton clubs shall lio entitled to 4 delegates and 4 votes, and each affiliated sub-association consisting of ten or moro clubs shall bo entitled to 6 delegates and G votes." (7) By tho addition to rulo 15 of the word and figures "and 11" after the figures "10," and (8) Every sub-association shall furnish 'to this association, before July 31 in each year, a copy of its audited report and balance-sheet. A considerable time was spent discussing tho regulations for tho management of club competitions. . . BIDWILL STPvEET CLTJB. The annual general meeting of the Bidwill Street Lawn Tennis Club was held at No. 28 Bidwill Street last night. The following officers were elected for' tho ensuing season :4-President, Sir Edward Gibbes; vicepresidents; Messrs. C. W. Toogood and K. Kirkialdio; treasurer, Mr. Gualter; committee, Mesdames Bevan and Moore, Miss Morris, and Messrs. Palethorpe and Swinburne, with-power to add to their number; delegate, Mr. A. Gualter; secretary, Mr. L. R. Hamilton.
