HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE.

MORE FREQUENCY SUGGESTED. In his annual report, just issued, the .Secretary for Industries. and Commerce makes the following reference to the High Commissioner's weekly cablegrams on the condition of the Home markets The New Zealand Press Association lias the contents of this cable promptly dispatched to all its subscribers, and in tile case of a paper not being a member of tho 'association showing, good cause why it should havo similar information, it is supplied by tho Department direct. I consider that tho _ cabled market reports of the High Commissioner could be made more valuable if they were sent with greater frequency when marked fluctuations in tho market take place, or when any special conditions arc operating for or against the market. At present the cables como onco a week, and any marked fluctuations which may occur between tho regular cables aro not at present advised. It may at any time happen that immediately after the sending of the weekly cable a sharp rise or fall may take place in the price of any particular line of produce, and I .think it is advisable that when circumstances of this kind arise tho particulars should immediately be cabled by tho High Commissioner."
