ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) ■ A FARMER DROWNED. Auckland, October 6. A farmer named Arthur Pinnington was drowned while bathing at Waikumate toda.. He was swimming about when ho suddenly collapsed and sank in 10 feet of water. Two companions tried to save him, but with out success. SUPPOSED SUICIDE. Auckland, October 6. What is supposed to have been a case of suicicjo took place to-day. A man named George Augustus Denton, connected with an auction mart in High Street, was found lying in his room in a boardingliouse, nt\.r Karangahape Road, in a comatose condition, and died shortly afterwards. He purchased a bottle of laudanum yesterday, and is supposed to have taken a dose. CAUGHT IN A, FLY WHEEL. Nelson, October 6. A lad named King, employed in a local cycle works, was caught in the fly wheel.of a gas engine this afternoon and suffered a fracture of both arras and his collarbone, besides minor injuries. FOUND DEAD. Nelson, October G. At tho inquest on Sirs. Catherine Dominic Osborn, found dead at the foot of the stairs at her residence last evenin<r, tho evidence showed that'deceased was subject to fainting fits. Death was the result or heart laMUio, probably causcd by tho shock of tliol fall, and a verdict to this effect was returned.
