LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. 1 (HI TELEGBAPII —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, October 6. The second round of tho Ladies' Amateur Golf Championship of New Zealand was played this morning in a fresh southerly wind that brought occasional showers. Notwithstanding this, some very good golf was shown, 'l'ho best game was that between Misses Campbell (Christchurch) and Standish (New Plymouth), who are champions of their respective clubs. The latter had-a lead of one with only the last hole to play, but instead of merely attempting to halve the hole, she essayed a big drive with the object of winning it, and got into difficulties, Miss Campbell winning the hole and. also the 19th hole, Miss Standish just failing to halve tho latter. Tile following are the results: —Mrs. Buckley (Oamaru) beat Miss Kettle (Christchurch), 3 up and 2 to play ; Miss Roberts (Otagq) boat Mrs. Mellsop (Manawatu), 7 up and 6to play; Miss Revell (Timaru) beat Mrs. Sargood (Otago), 3 up and 2 to play; Mrs. Allan (Otago), heat Mrs. MacKie (Otago), 1 tip; Miss Mill (Otago) beat Miss M. Beswick (Oaniaru), £ up and 7 to play; Miss Gould (Otago) heat Mrs. Fergus (Otago), 4 up and 3 to play; Miss Campbell (Christchurch) beat Miss Standish (New Plymouth) at' the 19th hole; Miss Christie (Oamaru) beat Mrs. Matheson (Timaru), 7 u» and 6 to play. "The Bogey Handicap, played in the afternoon, was won by Miss K. Rattray (Otago) with all square (handicap 6). Miss Fothcr-ingham-(St. Clair), Mrs. Cowlishaw (Christchurch), Miss Gorrie (Auckland), and Miss Lethbridge (Otago) tied for runuer-up with scores of 5.
