Under tho auspices of the Te Aro Schools, a special concert, organised in aid of tho general school funds, was held in St. John's Schoolroom last evening, there being a largo attendance of parents and friends. Mr. P. Lankshear, chairman of tho Schools Committee, presided. Tho entertainment opened with an attractive number "The Pussy Parliament," by the children of the infant school, trained by Miss Chatwin, headmistress. Other items by the school children were: —"In tho Garden," a song, by the pupils of Standard II (Miss Itiddick); a recitation, "The Union Jack" (Standard IV); song, "Dinah, Dear," by the boys of_Stnn"dnrd V (Mr. Henderson); and thp "Fairies" song, by tho girls (Miss Martin). Items were also contributed by Mrs. Mitchol, Miss Churchward, Messrs'. Clarkson, Laurenson, Brown, and Archer. Mrs. Daggett placed the accompaniments. When tho promoters of the school concert at Brooklyn-found, last Thursday evening, that Fullford's Hall was too small to accommodate .their numerous patrons, they decided to repeat tho' porformance, and Inst evening there was another largo audience, enthusiastic and appreciative. In the work of training the school children those responsible, Misses Holm, Stcedniau, Carter, and Thomson, should feel very gratified at the results they have achieved.
