CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDED. Thci filial match of tho second round of the senior hockey 'championship was played at Day's Bay on Saturday afternoon, between Wesley and Thorndon, resulting in a win for the former by 0 goals to 1. Another match was t-o havo been decitlcd, but the contestants—Wellington and Y.M.C.A.—declared it off owing to the lateness of the season. ' s United are the'wiilners, Karori aro runners-up,, whilo Wesley and Victoria Collego tie for third place. WESLEY (9) v. THORNDON (1). Tho match, which was played on No. 2 ground, was an easy win for Wesley, especially after the first twenty minutes, the teaili showing good combination and considerable dash.' Thorndon, however, were the first to have a goal to their credit, Sloane being, successful in finding his )ray to tho net. The Wesley scores wero registered by Smith .(4), Keys (3), Curgenwen (1), and Dixon (1). Mr. Patterson was the referee. , CHAMPIONSHIP. The finish of this championship leaves Thorndon tho winners of the J. N; Isaac' 3 Cup. Thorndon have ail unbeaten record. Played 18 matches, and won. all outright. They havo scored 90 goals, and have had only 10 goals scored against them. LADIES' HOCKEY. . 111 the third-class championship, Ramblers won by default from Victoria College.
