THE BAPTIST UNION. DR. CLIFFORD WARNS THE GOVERNMENT. PASSIVE RESISTANCE. (DY TELEGRAFH —FRESS ASSOCIATION —COrYRIGIIT.) London, October 2. The Baptist Union at Bradford resolved unanimously that the Government ought to deal with tho education question immediately, or at least concurrently with tho Licensing Bill. Tho Rev. Dr. Clifford warned the Government that it must act courageously or it would lihd it was playing with edged tools. If tho House of Lords rejected tho Education Bill, tho Baptists would do their utmost to end tho hereditary principlo. Thero has boon a renowal of "passive resistance" as a protest against tho Education Act of 1902. Tho property of six passive resistors, including two ministers, was sold at Berwick to pay tho education rate.
