MERCHANT SERVICE GUILD'S CLAIM. (Bl* TELEGBAFE PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPVIUGIIT.) Sydney, October 3. Tlio Industrial Court's judgment in the claim of the Merchant Service Guild against tho coastal steamship companies for better pay and improved working conditions has been given. It awards increased pay to masters and officers; but not to tho extent demanded, and also to 6omo oxtent varies tho working conditions of tho award. - Tho court declines to concede preference to guild members. The president of the court incidentally declared tho strike against tho coastal companies illegal.
