NEW CRADE NOTE FOR DAIRY PRODUCE.

The dairy commissioner, Mr.l'D. Cuddie has issued to dairy produce exporters a specimen copy of a new form of grade , note, winch is, to bo used in future. 'In' an accompanying explanatory 'letter, -i Mr. -Cuddie' says:— ; <. .. ™!w .to our being able 'to'distinguish'the various lines of'creamery, dairy and milled butter.on the Home, markets, alncl' of identifying them with. the. grade note or' certificate issued for the particular line or lines, it has been;'; decided,''at-the request' of the Home and Foreign Produ'co Exchange, Limited,, of _ London, to slightly vary our' method or stamping the grademarks' oil the' packages or boxes'. A' .new"form of ..grade; note is being issued, and I'enclose"a sped"en one; for your, information. ■ 'for which tho certificate is issued will be marked as shown'on the certificate under the heading "erader's ' na , rk ' e-S'j A 12. The shipments will be distinguished by means of the letters A to L, the first letter (A) representing the shipment per s.s lonic which leaves Wellington on October 8. The. numbers will merely denote the day of ;the month on which the produce ;'is graded.- The letter and number jviJl appear as part of tho grade stamp. It is intended to givo this system a thorough trial, and if found satisfactory, it will pro. bably be permanently adopted. , "Arrangements are now being made to mark the cheese packages in tho samo manner.
