A prominent trader, resident in the Island of Malaita, who is visiting Sydney, complains of the methods adopted by British warships and officials in meting out punishment to murderers of white settlers. The murders, ha said, are not avenged as they should be, the murderers being allowed to escape. He compares the failure of tlio British with the success of the German methods of dealing 'with crimes in the Islands.
