CLOSING SCENES AT A MISSION. Tho Bishop of Manchester's seaside mission, which was opened (in August 6, concluded by a thanksgiving service at St. John's Church, Blackpool, on Sunday, August 16, when there was a crowded ■ congregation. Dr. Kilos, with whom ,a "Daily News" correspondent afterwards had an interesting chat on the Work and results of tho mission, appeared on the sands for the last timo on the Saturday; night, when ha spoke to a large crowd of about five hundred people of the pleasure t}iey had given him always by their presence. As soon aa tho bishop got down, from the rostrum he was besieged by men, women, and even little children of very tender years, all anxious to grip'Jiis hand. He shook); hands with between 0110 and two hundred {people, and tho correspondent overheard many fervently uttered words of thanks and blessing. "What a pleasure it has all been," said the bishop,' When the long lino" camo to an end. The-, happiness I have derived from facing these of people every day, and looking into their eyes, could not be exceeded." The bishop added that a feature of the :present mission, had been that at every meeting there had been more men than women.
