Committee, to form an idea as to.- its suitability for secondary .classes in the daytime, in' addition, to . serving the , purpose for which it was built. The opinion was held that at- least two rooms could 'be used conveniently for day or night, classes. ■ It is understood that the proposal is strongly opposed in Petone. LECTURE BY' CAPTAIN RICHARDSON. A-most instructive; and interesting lecture was given by Captain G. 5... Richardson at the Petone Drill Shed last evening to members and ex-members of the- Petone Naval A.rtillery Volunteers, under Captain Ellis, a number of-'Petone citizeiis, arid' some.fifteen High School 'cadets, under Colour-Sergeant Mills: The subject was,.-"The TJ.S.A. Fleet." Before.dealing with his subject,:'the speaker briefly iddressed . the- cadets,/ and expressed his gratification at their-presence. No doubt, he hoped, they would, later on, be drafted into tho Volunteers, and take-up the defence of their country; .
