The members of the Pongaroa Rifle Club met • on September 30 to complete the firing for Tucker's (Wellington) trophy and a gladstone bag, commenced on September 23, but abandoned after firing at 200 yards, on account of the gale. The weather was in one sense ideal, but not from a marksman's point of view, the lights and shades, with a varying breeze, causing considerable trouble to most of the competitors. The gladstone bag was won by G. Atkins, who was Tim pretty ploso by A.M'Donald and H. J". Poole. F. Brenton and J. Allen, who were firing off a tie for Tucker's trophy, tied again'in the aggregate, and as the conditions laid down are that ties must be fired off, they will meet again to decide it.
