WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. A meeting of the Land Board was held at the District Land and Survey Office yesterday. Present: Messrs. Jas. Mackenzie (Commissioner Crown Lands, in tho chair), A. Reese, J, Dawson, J. M. A'Court, and C. J. Canton. A representative of Mcssrß. Goodbehere and Eng attended tho Board with reference to their application for the cutting rights over Sections 24 and 26, Block VI, Hantnpu, and asked that the matters be treated as' urgent as they .were just completing their cutting over the lands tlioy have at present, • and wanted to shift their mills. ■ The writers were advised that tho matter would be pushed forward' as much as possible, and the appraisement would bo mado within the next two months. Mr. J. P. Hanson, lessee of- Section 42, Hastwell V.S., applied for the , fee siniplo of the land, in terms of Section 177 of tho Land Act, 1908, ahd ,it was resolved to appoint Mr. J. B. F. Sutherland, Crown Lands Ranger, appraiser to make the required valuation. / '■■/ Mr. E. J. Whyte renewed his-application to transfer Section 13, Block IV, Tararua, to Mr. Robert Kenny. It was approved on - the usual conditions. Mr. D. Thurston applied to sub-let 100 • acres of Section 14, Block XVI, Apiti, to Mr. G_eorge Hart for five years from September o 25, 1908, at a rental of -lls. per: acre per \ annum. Mr. J. C. E. Chapman applied for permission to sublet Sections 15, Block IX, and 23, Block V, Huangarua (Tawaha), to liia v brother for' a year or three years, as lie works for his mother-in-law on her Scetion 9,.
