It appears that the last has not yet been heard of tho snowstorm which played havoo among sheep on tho hill country in South Canterbury a few months ago. Now that tho snow is disappearing runholdcrs arc realising losses which havo previously not been spoken of. In many places the weight of snow and tho drifts have completely wrecked the fonces, and tho damage will take, sume hundreds of pounds to make good. In tlio Mackenzie Country tho losses in sheep are now being realised more accurately than was possiblo boforo, but it will not bo until shearing time that tho full extent of tho damago dono will bo ascertainable. As ovidonce of the fact that the loss through depreciation in the weight and quality of the wool of the snowed-up shoop will bo groat, a runholder states, though lie lost practically, no shoep through doath, he estimates that his loss 'will mn into anything between £50Q and
