CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The 'usual meeting of the Wellington and Wairarapa Charitable Aid Board was the office of the secretary (Mr.: Geo. : Willis) yesterday morning, there being present; Messrs. R. C. Kirk (chairman), W. H. Morrah, A. Coles, and F. Cohen. '. .... The credit balance was.stated to be £750, and accounts amounting to £5G2 were passed for payment.; ■ - In order that the board can keep a proper record of all cases receiving aid, special forma have been prepared,., and specimen copies wero laid on' tlio table. A letter was received from the Featherstoiv County .Coilncil ' claiming a refund of the maintouanco .charged'for a man in the Victoria Hone for Incurables. Tlio Feathcrston Council consider the board liable,' but tha latter maintain that the 'Wairarapa District Hospital Board should make the payment on the ground that if the Wairarapa or any other District Hospital Board lia'd not mado provision for certain classes of "sickness in its own district, it must be prepared to make arrangements for their treatment'elsewhere. .Several similar cases are in dispute,..and they wore referred by the Inspector-General (Dr. T. H. Valentine) •to -tlio :olici=or-G'ono-ral (Dr. Fitchctt) for decision. \
