Mr. John Jamieson, the Opposition candidate for the Avon seat, addressed a largelyattended meeting of doctors at North Linwood to-niglit. Ho favoured tho electivo executive, reform of tho Legislative Council, leasehold at fair and reasonable ro-valuation, workers' homes near cities, greater efficiency in tho Defence forco, and enconrngcniont of volunteers, superannuation for teachers on tho samo linos as tho Civil Service, and reduction of borrowing. Ho received an attentive hearing, and at tho closo of his address was accorded a vote of thanks and confidonco.
