HEAVILY ARMED SHIPS FOR HOME WATERS. . Tho first four German Dreadnoughts, carry.' ing twelve 11-inch guns tnd twelve 6.7-inch guns, will have a heavier broadside than tho British Dreadnought: (ten 12-inch guns niid no . 6-iiich), but will not bo her equal iu speed. The second four Gormin Dreadnoughts will bo still more heavily armed, having 12-inch guns firing a 9811b. shell, against the Ssolb. shell of the British 12-inch gun Tho firet German Dreadnought was tho Nas sau, which has been described as follows:— Length, 472 ft.; beam, 82ft. Mn.j draught, 26fti; tonnage,: IS,OOOj horsepower, 25,000; and speed, 19 knots an hour. The armament will con sist of twelve 11-inch guns, twelve G.G-inch guns, and eight 3.1-inch guns, togothoi with six torpedo tubes for tho discharge of a torpedo nineteen inches in diameter. Her crew is to number 866, including 27 officers. Her radius of action at a speed of ton. I'nots is 5000 miles. This indicates that .the vessel is designed for use in home waters
