THE FRUIT FLY.
Sir, —In your report upon the deputation t-o Mr. M'Nab, your reporter put it that I said—"l agreed with Mr. Howarth as to tho inability of the fruit fly to thrivein , New Zealand."' This is an error; what I said was that I agreed with Mr. Howarth's statement as to tho distribution, of maggotinfected orauges as manure, but as to whether the fruit fly would thrive here was a matter for experts. I' am not a fruit fly expert. —I am, etc., 0. T. PATERSON, Fruit Broker... Dunedin, September 23.
