PIPE BAND CONCERT.

•' The sons of Caledonia assembled in force at tho-Wellington Pipe Band's- concert in tho Concert Chamber of tho Town Hal] last evening, when the pipes- skirled and tho kilts swished rhythmically to somo purpose. After tho-'Pipo Band had played a selection, the president (Major C. D. Mackintosh), in a brief address, took his audience back to tho strenuous days of "Wallace, Bruce, and other Scottish heroes, whoso deeds of valour aro amongst tho dearest treasures of' tho loyal Scot. The/musical programme consisted of songs, national dances, instrumental and orchestral selections. Songs were contributed by Messrs. A. Hobman (who sang "The Trumpeter" in good style), Miss Nina Caldow, Mrs. Mueller, Mr. J. M'Lean, and Mr. G. A.t Watkins. Mr. C. D. Mackintosh played a clarionet. solo, and tho Scottish Orchestral Society's Orchestra a selection of Scottish airs.; The dancing by the members of the club included reels, (lings, a sword dance, sailor's hornpipe, and an Irish jig. At tho conclusion of the concert an enjoyable jlmdo waa hold.
