Tlio following resolutions liavo been adopted at tlio annual convention of tlio Woraon's Christian Tqinpernnce TJnioit (1) That this convention of women representing tlio district, of Auckland strongly urges tliat tlio Government introduce scientific tempcranco instruction into tlio public schools syllabus as a class subject. (2) That this convention urgo upon the Government tlio imperative necessity of .withdrawing tlio packet licenses from tlio coastal steamers, as they consider it is a menace to the safety and comfort of tlio travelling public. , , (3) That this convention is strongly of opinion that tlio law which permits liquor to bo supplied to children should bo amended by llio ago being raised from 13 to over 18 years.
