: THE WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. k The now Management Committee of tho Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association lielil its first meeting on Thursday night, there being present: Messrs. R.,St. J. Beere, A. H. Emboli, J. F. O'Leary, J. W.' M. Dart, F. A. Lewis, 0. E. Weir (treasurer), and tho'secretary. _ / : The following appointments were made for'; the season:—Chairman, Sir. Beore; delegato to N12.L.T.A., Mr. Weir (vico Mr.'J. S. Wilson, who-was previously appointed as one of Wellington's fivo delegates, but who is acting in tho. same capacity, for' Hawko's Bay) ; management of country;cup competition, Mr. G.-'A. Hurley;, sub-committeo to draft new shield rules; Messrs. Beero and Fair; sub-committee to draft amendments to; constitution providing for sub-associa-tions, Messrs. J. C. Peacock, G. A. Hurley (convener), and H. P. Richmond (two lastnamed committees to report to meeting of council on October .7); management of Day's Bay courts, Messrs. Kimbell and Beero; postponement committee, Sir. O'Leary and the secretary. It was decided i to invito entries for tho inter-club competitions, to closo on October 2G, the matches to commence on tho following Saturday, October 31. The next meeting will bo hold on September 29, when tho secretary and treasurer will bring down an 'estimato of receipts and expenditure for tho current'season.
