; At a meeting held in tho Royal Academy of Music, London, Sir Alexander Mackenzie presiding, whore there wero present representatives of tho universities of tho United Kingdom, together with Sir Hubert Parry, principal of tho Royal College of Music, and tho heads of the Rcyp.l College of Organists," the Guildhall School of Music, Trinity Collego of- Music, aud the Incorporated Society of Musicians, it was agreed to accept for registration of teachers tho degrees, diplomas', and licenses of those and all accepted examining institutions. This Bill was promoted by tho Union of Graduates in Music, an incorporated body which runs no examinations, and has no interest except to safeguard the public by trying to secure- proper tuition for the people. It is the policy qf these musicians to discourago every monopoly in the work of musical education. .
