FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. _ The fortnightly meeting of the City. Corn*. cil was held last night. There- were, present: The Mayor (Hon. T. AV; Hislop) and Councillors Luke, Smith, Cohen, Baflinger, Hales, Fisher, . M.P., Fletcher, Biss, Hmdmarsh, M'Laren, • Morrah, Carmichael, and Murdoch; • '• •

The Baths and City Reserves Committee reported that the superintendent of reserves had planted 5480 trees on the Town Belt on each side of the Brooklyn-tramline, and 2250 mixed trees and shrubs-had been planted od the Town Belt'at Oriental Bay.
