:■ A wedding took placo at St. David's Church, Tetone, yccterday, when Miss A. C. Bbynoii,'daughter of Mr. Beynon, was married to Mr. C. Minifie, of Wellington. Tha bride • was attended by her sister, Miss V. B?ynon, slid little Miss Edna Bcynon, and Master Bevnon actcd as page, each carrying a crook. Mr. Wills acted as best man, and Mr. Rankin as groomsman. Hie breakfast was spread in an upstairs, room of the Oddfellows' Hall. The evening was passed very pleasantly by a very largo gathering of friends, the large hail being used. A meeting was held last night in the Firo Brigade Station of the United Firo Brigade Committee to arrange for the events to be competed for on Labour Day, October 14. Superintendent Lepper presided. ' Captain Home (Workshop Brigade) proposed that 110 alcoholic liquor should bo allowed on tho ground. Lieutenant ( Cough seconded, and tho motion wa3 carried. In order to make the events as interesting as possible, Captain Homo moved that all events'but tho open event bo free, tho entry fee for tho open event to bo Od. per man. Lieutenant Cough moved that all nominations be in that night fortnight. Both motions were carried. The next committee meeting will bo hold next Wednesday night. Superintendent Lepper mentioned that ho had a permit to uso any of the council's plant required, and Captain Horno arranged to supply ecrtain liy. drants; ctc., required. There was a fair crowd of members of tho Hopo of Petono Lodge of 1.0. G.T., at the weekly meeting last evening. Bro. W. Denby, Chief Tomplar, presided. A motion of condolence to firo. K. C. Trave'rs in his rcccnt bereavement was carricd unanimously. A working bee, with Bros. Findlay and Parker and Sister Fuller as conveners, was set up to deal with lodge furniture. Tho rest of tho evening was spent in harmony, ctc.
