BAPTIST CONGRESS.
OPENED IN SYDNEY. (BY IEtEOEAI'H—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPTEIGHT.) ' Sydney, September. 23. The first Australasian Baptist Congress opened in Sydney on Tuesday. Tho Rev. J. C. Martin (Spreydon, Christchurch, New Zealand) responded on behalf of Now Zealand to the welcome acoorded the Dominion delegates. Mr. H. Priestly (President of tho Baptist Union of New South .Wales) was elected president, and the Rev. J. J. North (Wellington, New Zealand), one of tho vice-presi-dents. •
