HUTT RAILWAY
DUPLICATION OPEN TO NCAHAURANGA. TIME-TABLE CHANGES. Tlio duplication railway lino from the Hutt to Ngahauranga will be open for traffic for the first time 011 Sunday next. The new line will enable the principal trains to run between Ngahauranga and Lower Hutt in from three to five minutes less time than at present.. . There will bo no ceremony in connection with the opening of the new station at Ngahauranga, which has been already described. It is an island station, with a platform on each side. The building includes a large post oliicc lobby, to which access is obtainable- without infringing on the' railway precincts, a stationmaster's office, tickot room with fireplace, postal and railway business rooms at different ends of the building, and a ladies' waiting-room. Tho station is well equipped with all tho necessary inter-locking appliances and signal cabin, and is fitted with the electric light. THE TIME-TABLE. The principal alterations in tho time-table as from Monday nest will bo as follow:— A train will leave Lower Hutt for Wellington alone at 7.11 a.m., not stopping at Ngahauranga and Kaiwarra, and reaching Wellington at 7.32 a.m. Passengers from stations between Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt can connect with the 7.11 a.m. train. Trains will leave Lower Hutt for Te Aro at 7.19 and 8.17 a.m. respectively, stopping at all stations as required. The train now leaving Lower Hutt at 8.35 a.m. will leave 2 minutes later, but will arrive at Wellington as now. In tho evening there will also bo two trains between 5 and 6 p.m. from Lower Hutt, ono leaving at 5.6 p.m. for Te Aro, not stopping at Kaiwarra, and one for Wellington at 5.28 ! p.m. stopping as required, the latter taking the placo of the present 6.9 p.m. from Lower Hutt.
To meot the wishes of golfers and others, tho motor train at present leaving Upper Hutt at 4.35 p.m. will, on Saturdays alone, bo delayed until 5.17 p.m. and will run through to Wellington, arriving there at 6.27 p.m. Tho train at present leaving /Wellington for Lower Hutt at 4.45 p.m. will leave at 4.40 p.m. The train at present leaving To Aro for Upper Hutt at 7.7 a.m. will leave Te Aro five minutes earlier. This has been arranged to fit in with other trains from Lower Hutt.
A train will leave Wellington for Lower Hutt at 8.7 a.m.
The train at present leaving Wellington at 5.13 p.ni. will leave at 5.10 p.m. It has been found necessary to leavo three minutes earlier than at present to enable this train to lit in with three others, and also to allow tho train to stop at Ngahauranga to take up passengers. Notwithstanding this stop tho train will take one minuto less in tho run out.
There will be four inward trains to Wellington from Lower Hutt between 7 and 9 a.m., and four outward trains from Wellington to Lowor Hutt between 4.40 and 6.15 p.m. Tho Sunday trains have also all been quickened up from three to five minutes in tho time taken between Wellington and Lower Hutt.
Tho up mail train will, under the new running, take 18 minutes between Wellington and Lower Hutt, and will leave there at 8.41 a.m. instead of 8.43 a.m. as at present.
