WELLINGTON HOSPITAL TRUSTEES
FORTNIGHTLY MEETING,
The fortnightly meeting of the Board of Trustees of. the Wellington District Hospital was held yesterday morning, there being present: Hon. C.: M. Luke, M.L.C. (chairman), and Messrs. Bolton, M'Ewan, Lpndon, Kirk, Danks, Nash, and Hales. The periodic return of receipts and 'expenditure showed that the receipts totalled £2076 9s. 6d., expenditure £1365 os. 5d., and the balance to credit, carried forward, £711 ■9s. Id. The income from fens from outpatients totalled £13 165., as against, £26 Bs.. for tho previous, fortnight, and £15 9s. for the corresponding period in the previous year. The wages account was sot down at £138 7s. sd. Fees from., in-patients amounted to £106 15s. Bd., as against £163 12s. 2d. for the previous fortnight,- and £105 7s. for the corresponding period of 1907. Tho return of patients set forth that the total number under treatment *(1907 figures given in brackets) was-as follows:—General' Hospital, 200 (202); Victoria Hospital, 37 (38); Seddon Hospital, 25 (17). Total, 262 '(257). • ' , On the recommendation,of ; tho House Com-' mittee, the salary of the house steward at the hospital was increased to £200 per annum. Accounts amounting to £1209 7s. 6d. wero passed for payment. ,• -i It was decided, in granting the assistant dispenser at the hospital a bonus of £5, to refer the question of increasing his salary to the House Committee for its 'consideration. The present salary, is £1 per week, a sum which, m the opinion of Mr. M'Ewan, is disproportionate to the responsibilities of the position. ''
