General entries for tho Otaki-Maori Racing Club's meeting are due on Friday next. Owners aud trainers should not overlook this fixture in tho bustlo for tho Wanganui meeting. Tho dalopin blood asserted itself at tho Avoiidalo races on Saturday, fivo out of tho eight winners being sired by sons of St. Simon. Tho imported sire Soulfc bad a good record on Saturday. Tiireo of his representatives won at Avondale, and Soultlino credited him with a win in Sydney. Waihuku has been placed twico second and twice third in his last four starts-
At a meeting of stewards of tho TaratahiCartorton Racing Club, held on Saturday afternoon, details in connection with the forthcoming race meeting wcro dealt with. Tile recommendations of the delegates of tho district racing clubs were agreed to. with ono exception in regard to stewards tickets.
Tho three-year-old filly Singor (Advance — Sing Song), which is trained in Wanganui, is said to be a very promising sort.
Yosami, who has not been of much account on tho Hat up to the present time, is ontered for tho hack hurdlo events at tho AVellington spring meeting.

Foremost was first away from tho barrier, but _ before tho field had gono fifty yards Naumai was in front, but tho Conqueror gelding ran very wide at tho last turn, and Foremost ran home an easy winner by two lengths, Taimanupo just beating Naumai for second place by a neck.
Stratagem, one of the New Zealand Cup candidates, claims a brace of parents that accounted for no fower than cloven cups between them. Nelson (Stratagem's sire) won tho Auckland Cup three times and tho Island Bay Cup, Wellington Cup, and Dunedin Cup. Dudu, tho dam of Stratagem, won tho Wanganui Cup three times, the Egmont Cup and the Wellington Cup. Stratagom has already won tho Oamaru Cup, and'should sho bo successful in tho New Zealand Cup it will bo a coup.
Discussing tho 'Frisco disqualification and tho successful appeal by tho owner of tho horso, a writer in tho Auckland " Herald " • says:—The 'Frisco caso was tho old story of a reversal of form, and of the stewards making uso of tho running in a previous ovent to sujiport the theory that all was not in order. \\ r hen Sir George Clifford some years back first gavo his ruling on the point as to what could be held to constitute a question of fact thero were plenty of people who doubted its soundness, and I havo to admit that I was one of the number. Sinco then, however, I liavo come into full accord with its spirit. Stewards are required to act promptly when there are non-triers. To wait for further evidence in the shapo of a will in anothor race before taking action is to temporise and to pave the way for a successful appeal.
