NEW YORK GOVERNORSHIP
1 DEMOCRAT NOMINEE. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) New York, September 17. The Democratic State Convention at Rochester nominated Lieut.-Govarnor Chanler for the Governorship of Now York. While returning a Republican Governor (Mr. C. E. Hughes, re-nominated) in 1906, Now York returned a Democrat Lieutenant-Gover-nor, Mr. Lewis Stuyvesant Chanler, and it is he who is to carry the Democratic- colours against Mr. Hughes. Born in 18G9, ho was admitted to the Bar in 1891.
