FOR HARBOUR BOARD EMPLOYEES
PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH AN APPEAL COMMITTEE. At the next monthly meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board, Mr. R. Flotcher will move, in accordance with notico given, as follows:— "That an appeal committee bo formed, consisting of the secretary (who shall act as chairman and convener), harbour-master, wharfinger, engineer, and one member of the staff, as-a delegate,, who shall be elected by the permanont employees of the board, such delegate to be elected cvory second year; the appeal committee.' shall investigate and deal with all complaints laid before it by or on behalf of any.ofthe-employees; no employee shall be! dismissed'until his case has been considered by the appeal committeo who shall report and . forward - its, recommendation to the wharves and quays committee for decision, in the absence of any ono of tho four officers bis placo on the committeo is to ly takon by the officer acting for him; a deputydclogato is to .be elected biennially to take tho place of the delegate during any inability to attend a meeting; all meetings of the appeal committee aro to be considered by its members as strictly confidential; all communications from the committee either to tho board or to the employees are to bo made through the secretary; the committeo shall be summoned by tho secretary as occasion require "
