Lord Brassey, in opening the annual meeting of the Associated of Commerce at Cardiff, Wales, advocated a full and impartial inquiry, before introducing trade legislation, in order to : collate tho results achieved under varying conditions of commerce at Home and abroad. Referring to Australian old-age pensions, Lord Brassey declared that no State desired to abolish pensions.
