America, ho says, has interests in the Pacific, which will be increased when tho Panama Canal is completed, and tho presence of an Anglo-Saxon navy in tho Pacific would steady a lot of other nations. The countries concerned might borrow money to construct such a navy. Australia's sharo would bo about ten million pounds. When Mr. Doakin was seen in connection with Sir Thomas Bont's • scheme,. he asked to be oxcused from saying anything about it.
