The special committee which drafts the regulations applied to Paris theatres and music-halls met to consider a report by M. Turot, a well-known _ member _of the Municipal Council, advising considerable modifications in the police regulations of theatres. The committee decided to act on. the conclusions of this report, and to adopt some of the draft regulations suggested by M. Turot. Among these is the following:—" It is forbidden to trouble spectators in any way whatever, and (specifically) by wearing hats of unreasonable dimensions." The new regulation contains the first prohihitary reference to theatre hats.
