y > UNION PAYS THE FINE. tl MEN CONVICTED, BUT NOT PENALISED. - . When the bakers' strike was referred to at tho Arbitration Court yesterday, Mr. E. A. . Lo Cren, inspector of awards, announced that the fine of £100 imposed upon the p union had been paid. 3 Mr. Le Cren said his Honour had indicated 3 that possibly somo .penalty might be inflicted 8 on the individual strikers. He wished to 0 point out that tho men had been very ser verely punished for their ill-advised action, 1 and he hoped that the Court would take that into consideration. His Honour Mr. Justice Sim said that tho union having paid the fine, the Court had i decided morely to convict the individual respondents, and not to imposo any peualty ■ on them.
