' . « — : — MEETING OF THE WELLINGTON CENTRE. An important. meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre was lieltl in the Wellington Club's pavilion last evening. The following delegates were present: — Messrs. King (Thorndon), Kitto (Victoria), Smith (l'eton;), Mur'pbv (Hutt), Dickerson (Karori), Hougkins (Kelburne), Scott (Newtown), and T. Churchward (Wellington). - Mr. King (Thorndon) was elected chairman, and Mr. T.- Churchward secretary, vice Mr. M. J. Brogan, retired. ■ Tho matches arranged were tho Senionand Junior Pennants, Junior Start, Hdl Pins, Edwin Feathers, and the Buckles. The Gisborne trophy matches were held over for arrangement until they were revised in order to make these. matches more interesting. Messrs. King, Kitto, Smith, Dickerson, and Churchward were appqinted a sub-coni-mittee to draft a new set of rules for tho centre on the basis of the following recommendations: —That tho centre should control bowling in Wellington and suburbs, arrange matches' with outsido clubs on request and return matches, and arrange local tournaments each year ; that all disputes relating to any matches bo referred .to the centre, that tho centre officially receive and enter- ( tain tho representatives of-any outside bowling association, the cost thereof to be defrayed by the affiliated clubs pro rata. It was decided that the local tournament bo held .during the Christmas holidays, the matches to be played in sections.' The rink match will be played on Christmas and Box-' ing Days'(December-25 and 26), tho finals to bo played off ou tho afternoon' of the latter date. .. ■ ■■ It was decided that-a scries of inter-club matches be played'during the season, ■'Details will be arranged later.
