The ballot for Lots 1 and 7 of the Cul. verden Settlement,. thrown up ,by the suo. cessful applicants at the first ballot, took placo yesterday, and resulted as follows: Lot 1 (25 applicants), area 712 acres 1 rood, half, yoarly rental £73 2s. Gd., Mrs. Jane l'opplewell, Raincliff, Pleasant Point. Lot 7 (21 applicants), area 1852 acres, half-yearly rental £113 Bs., Mrs. Christina Clark, Haivarden. The-Commissioner of Crown Lands, Mr. 13. C. Gold Smith, at the last meeting of the Canterbury Land . Board, laid before tho board a plan and schedules for the purpose of having the whole ..of the available lands in the Culverden township offered for selection or renewable leases; Th« plan and schedules were approved.
