Lord Dudley, the new Governor-General of tho Commonwealth, is a passenger by the Aorangi, which arrived to-day from Vancouver. He dined with the Stato Governor (Lord Chelmsford), and afterwards boarded tlio warship Powerful, and sailed for Sydney, where the official reception will take place. FAREWELL TO LORD NORTHCOTE. Sydney, September 5. The State banquet to farewell Lord Northcote, tho retiring Governor-General of Australia, was a brilliant function. Lord Northcote warmly advocated tho promotion of immigration.
