(Before Dr.. A. M'Arthur, S.M.) Robert George Denton, engineer, sued Charles Grayland, fitter, for £5-10s. Id. for goods, ' sold and delivered. Defendant counter-claimed for £3, one week's wages in lieu of notice.. • Aiter hearing, tho evidence, his Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for£s 7s. 4d. and costs £1 16s. on the claim, and also for' plaintiff oil the countcr-claimi Mr. Atkinson' appeared for plaintiff and Mr. Dunn for defendant. . ■ ' Kate Ellen Sample, settler, claimed £24 45." 7d; from Frederick James Shelton, merchant; amounts alleged to, be duo under agreements to let and for the sale of a piano.; After hearing the evidenoe, his Worship reserved his decision until September 10. Mr. Dunn appeared fir plaintiff and Mr. Dix for defendant. At the Mount Cook Police Court yesterday morning, before Mr. Thomas Bland, J.P., Norman Campbell was fined 205., or sevea days' imprisonment in default,, for drunkenness. For a similar offence John Reed was sentenced to a month's imprisonment. One first offender was. fined 55., or 24 hours' imprisonment in-default, and three other-first offenders were convicted and discharged.
