Cabled advice received by the local agents of the Shaw-Savill liner lonio states that the vessel left Hobart at 6 a.m. yesterday for Wellington, and should consequently arrive here fairly early on Tuesday morning. THE KAITANGATA. The Union Company's steamer Kaitangata, from Newcastle, Sydney, Bluff, and Dunedin, is expected to arrive in Wellington noxt-Wed-03sday. She; has a quantity of kerosene, and coal for discharge at Wellington. TONGARIRO, FOR LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that, the liner Tongariro is due in Wellington on September 1G from Lyttelton. She remains here three days, proceeding thence' to Napier and Auckland. From the latter-port' she sails finally for London on September 26.' THE MOANA. Next week the Union' Company's steamer Moana, from Southern ports, will arrive in Wellington ono day later than usual. Tho vessel, which is undergoing survey at Port Chalmers, is fixed to leave Dunedin on Wednesday, for Wellington via Lyttelton. She arrives here on Friday, and leaves the same day for Sydney via Northern ports. THE HINEMOA. At 9.45 p.m. yesterday; the Government steamer Hinemoa anchored in Worser Bay. On Thursday the vessel visited the Brothers' Lighthouse, and yesterday finished Stephens Island.She will land necessaries at Pencarrow this morning, and is expected to ,reach her berth before noon. PATEA HARBOUR. Tho monthly report of the Patea Harbour' Board states that the channel over the bar is straight, bearing S.W. by S. by compass from tho lighthouse, with about 14ft. at high water 6pring tides, and about 11 to 12ft.' at high water neap tides. The channel is about 150 ft. wide, and from tho en£ of the western wall all the way in there is about 12ft. of water at spring tides and 9ft. at neap tides. The river keeps the same, with the deepest water from the tide gaugo up. The bar was sounded on August '14—15 ft. on tho bar and 12ft. at the end of tho western wall. Thero have been thirteen arrivals and thirteen departures since the last report, five boats having gone out on the lights. Everything at the. station is in good working order. The collier Komata loft Westport at 2 a.m'. ytstorday for Sydney, laden with coal for <he Admiralty. Yesterday morning tho harbour ferry steamer Duchess came off the slip, after having undergone survey and inspection. • To-day tho Aparima, from Calcutta, leaves Auckland, for Wellington. She is expeoted to arrive hero early next week. The Navua, which is relieving in the East Coast trado, is due from tho North this morning, ono day late. Sho will leave for Dunedin this afternoon. The Mapourika arrived at Westport at 2 p.m. yesterday, and sailed for Nelson at 3 p.m. Sho will leave Nelson for Wellington at 10.30 this morning, and is due here about 7.30 to-niglit. Imports by the Maitai, which arrived from Melbourne and Hobart yesterday, included 1200 bags and sacks of flour find about 300 sacks onions. While in the south tho vessel loaded about 700 tons of clmir and other produce, for transport to Sydney. Tho Maitai left for Sydney direct yesterday afternoon. Last week the Union Company's steanior Wanaka left Wellington for tho Bluff. The ■Waipori left Westport at 3 p.m. yesterday for Wellington. The Flora, which arrived from Byron Bay on Thursday, loft for Greymouth direct last night, and pioceads thence -to Dimsdia.
