Pearson, local traffic manafer of tho Union S.S. Company, left for the outh by the Maori last night on .holiday leave. During his absence his duties will be carried out by Mr. F. IC. Warren, cashier, who in turn will bo relieved by Mr. H. H. Green, late of the Hobart office. ■Mr. W. Tudhopo, of the staff of the publio , office of the Magistrate's Court, who is leaving for Hawera oil Monday to take up a position in a solicitor's office there, was presented with a brief bag by the staff of tho court yesterday morning. Tho presentation was mado by Dr. A. M'Artliur, S.M., in a characteristic speech, in which he wished Mr. Tudhopo overv success for tho future. Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M., and Mr. A. H. Holmes, clerk of the-court, also made a few remarks to the same effect.
