NEW ZEALAND FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION. A meoting of tho council of tho Now Zealand Football Association was held last evening to re-arrange the Brown Shield fixtures. Messrs. J. J. Roberts (chairman), J. M. Oilier, H. M'Keowen, H. Waters, G. Uren, L. White, W. Auld, and B. L. Salmon wero present. Tho matches were re-arranged as follow: — Wednesday, September f).—Southland v. Taranaki (1.30 p.m.), referee, S. W. Thornton (Canterbury); Otago v. Canterbury (3 p.m.), referee, H. G. Mayer (Wellington). Thursday, September 9.—Wellington v. winner of Taranaki-Southland match (3 p.m.), referee, W. Smith (Otago). Tho referee for the final will bo arranged by tho captains of tho teams interested. WANCANUI v. HOROWHENUA. The woathor was beautifully fino on Wednesday for the Wanganui-Horowhenua football match (writes our Levin correspondent). The game throughout was very evenly contested, and resulted in a draw, each side scoring 11 points. Mr. Atkinson was tho referee. During the gamo two of tho Wanganui players were injured, one having his kneo put out, and the other cracking two :of his ribs, and, notwithstanding tho fact that two doctors wero attending him for some timo last night, ho was able to travel with tho rest of the team back to Wanganui yesterday. A WANCANUI MATCH. (nr TF.Lixiiirit— press .association.) Wanganui, September 3. A football match was played this afternoon between Auckland- Sacred Heart Old Boys and St. Mary's Club. A fast gamo resulted in a win for Wanganui by three points to nil. The local score consisted of a penalty goal kicked by Abbott. THE BRITISH TEAM. HOMEWARD BOUND. (ui TEl.EfiltAPil —PRKSS ASSOCIATION —COPTRIOUT.) Brisbane, September 3. . The Marama, which sailed for Vancouver, has the British footballers among her passengers. Mr. Harnett, manager of tho .team, on being interviewed, said the team had been royally treated in New Zealand and Australia. They could never sufficiently praise the hospitality received. Dr. "M'Evedy, vice-captain of tho team, does not roturn to England. He intends to settle in New Zealand, and practiso his profession. Tho doctor, prior to tho departure of the team, received a substantial presentation from his comrades. CONSENT TO A MATCH REFUSED. (BY TELEGRAM!—ntESS ASSOCIATION—COriItISnT.) (Roc. September 3, 11.25 p.m.) Fremantle, September 3. Ceylon papers by tho mail state tha.t tho English Rugby Union refused its consent to a match between tlio Australian amateurs and a Ceylon team. It is believed that this is because the latter aro compromised through playing the All Black professional team last year. Tho following will represented Brooklyn Presbyterian Class, which is to play St. Andrew's on No. 3 I'olo Ground to-morrow:— Full-back, E.' L. Shaw; three-quarters, S. Shilling, R. Hastings, and E. Shaw; fiveeighths, R. Munro; half-back, R. D. Newth; forwards, R. Stewart, E. Keeble, F. Bates, J. Gondall, J. Ferguson, R. Teazo, and F. Furncss; wing forwards, "Nick" Bolton and B. Shaw (captain).
