EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
A Chnstohurch Press Association.telegram states that during the week ending August 28, .1107 eggs were laid by the hens entered in the NewZealand Utility , Poultry Club's fourth £gjr-laying ' compstition &t Lincoln Gollogoj wliich brings the total to date to 15,520. The best layings for the week .were:—W. Sail's White Leghorns, 36; Mrs.'J;'Mills's White Leghorns, 34; G. H. Robinson's Minorcas, 33; A. Padman's White' Leghorns, 32- R. E. M. Evans's Silver Wyandottes, '32- "N.Z. Poultry Journal liititute's" White Leghorns, 31; iAllan Petrie's White Leghorns, 31; W. A. Nixon's White Leghorns, 30; Miss. E.. Hearfield's Black: Orpingtons, 30 ;' Drury and Rose's White Leghorns, 30. Tho highest totals to dateare:— Kennedy's Silver Wyandottes, 604; A. Padman's White Leghorns, 510; "N.Z.
