Tho committee was of the opinion that it. wasdesirable to invite a team to tour New Zealand in 1909. The cost -of th b ; -toui wl frqm £1000 to £1100 —should- jfe covored by guarantees by tho various "associations,, in .the following amounts:—Ailckla'iid, 1 , 'Wfellingtoii'j' Otago, £250 each; Taranaki," £100; Wanganui, Hawke's Bay, 'Canterbury, Southland, £50 each; Wairarapa;" South Canterbury, £25 each. The committee further rocomraended that four guarantors be obtained for bank to- guarantee, £250 each; that each centre(iprowde 'boarding -accommodation; that ,the, secretary, write to the South African Association tentatively inviting a team oh the'lines .of, the_. invita-. tion to the New South [Association in 1903; that endeavours'be made to arrango matches in Australia on .tho return of the team, and that Australia "be invited to contribute towards the expenses "of 'tlie Now Zealand Council. - 'The reportw'a'sjtcferred to the conference of delegates to lio held at Diinedin at tho time of the Brown Shield competition. ... . . .
