DOMINION SCOUTS.
A large.and enthusiastic meeting of thoso interested in the establishment of a corpa of Dominion Scout's was' held at Armit's Rooms last evening, Mr. Aubrey Houston, late of tho Irish Yeomanry, 'presiding.;: Dr. F. Wallace M'Kenzie, Captain Dalrymple, and the Rev. D. C. Bates, who has signified his willingness to act as chaplain to the corps, were also present; It'was decided to hold a mass meeting on. September 8, at a rendezvous to be arranged later, wlicn Lieutenant-Colonel A. Bauchop, ■ C.M.G., officer commanding the district, will bo asked to inspect tho men, and to receive tho formal offer of their services. Sergeant Stansell, late of the Seventh New Zealand Contingent, was present as a delegate from Palmerston North, at which centro, he stated, tho movement was receiving strong support. The Rev. D. C. Bates made a stirring speech to those present, and contended that the Government would benefit very greatly \ by tho acceptance of the services of such a corps. It is stated that the , muster to date, including the outlying detachments, is 95,S and that the Wellington detachment, proposes 'tc , instituto a recruiting campaign among exsoldiers and members of tho New Zealanc Contingents all over tho Dominion.
